In addition to a book, Tha Global Cipha is also a history lesson that presents in-depth conversations with artists from around the world.It covers over 30 years of global Hip Hop history from the perspectives of the leading rappers, DJs, entrepreneurs, B-Boys and dancers, graffiti artists, and others who embody a common Hip Hop heritage. The central themes emerging from the conversations that comprise this history include gender and identity politics. I talk with two of the authors James G. Spady and Samir Meghelli.

Jonessa Monique - R&B Angel

Dr. Marc Lamont Hill Part 1

Dr. Marc Lamont Hill is one of the youngest members of the growing body of “Hip-Hop Intellectuals” in the country and is Asst. Professor of Urban Education at Temple University. His work, which covers topics such as hip-hop culture, politics, sexuality, education, and religion, has appeared in numerous journals, magazines, books, and anthologies.

Dr. Hill and I discuss the status of education in many urban cities, Oprah, and Hollywood’s newest fad, Africa.
